A Snapshot of Your Day
The role supports the Team Lead in day-to-day operations and takes ownership of process management activities—including the proposal, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators (important metrics) and internal controls.
It involves close collaboration with a wide range of collaborators, including regional accounting hubs, local business teams, and global partners across the Siemens Energy community, supplying to efficient and visible financial operations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Financial Reporting & GL Management: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP; perform month-end closings, account reconciliations, and handle GL postings including accruals, provisions, and intercompany transactions.
- Process Improvement & Documentation: Implement, document, and continuously update processes and DTPs (Desktop Procedures); proactively identify and propose improvements and efficiencies in financial operations.
- Audit & Compliance: Ensure robust internal controls and support audit activities by providing timely, accurate responses and documentation for assigned countries/legal entities.
- Data Analysis & Issue Resolution: Analyze accounting issues and data sets from various sources, identify and accurate errors, and provide support to Closing & Reporting teams as a domain expert.
- Project Involvement: Support finance transformation initiatives, ERP migrations, mergers and acquisitions, and manage contending priorities through effective time management.
- Team Leadership & Teamwork: Mentor junior team members, foster innovation, and build positive relationships with stakeholders across local and global Siemens Energy teams through accountable and agile teamwork.
What You Bring
- Educational Background: Holds a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or equivalent qualification in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience & Expertise: Brings at least 6 years of hands-on experience in Accounting and Finance Operations, with strong expertise in Closing & Reporting, IFRS, and local GAAP.
- System & Tools Proficiency: Well-versed in SAP business processes and proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
- Project Exposure: Prior involvement in transitions or finance transformation projects is a valuable plus.
- Growth Mindset: Demonstrates a proactive attitude, with a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously enhance personal and professional capabilities.
- Communication Skills: Open, collaborative, and communicative by nature, with fluent English skills to work optimally in a global environment.
