A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our team as a dynamic and experienced Field Service Engineer & Mechanical Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in supporting our steam turbine service operations. In this hybrid position, you will combine your technical troubleshooting skills with on-site mechanical supervision, ensuring the high-quality execution of maintenance, overhaul, and commissioning activities across various customer sites. Imagine being at the forefront of energy technology, making a significant impact on our operations and customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Technical Support
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and diagnostics for steam turbine systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, and control aspects.
- Support the commissioning, performance testing, and tuning of steam turbines to ensure optimal operation.
- Interface with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Prepare time schedules for planned activities, along with tools and personnel requirements.
- Create a list of required spare parts and perform on-site visual checks as needed, delivering technical assistance to field teams
- Review and check Siemens Energy mechanical and electronic tools before each outage.
Mechanical Supervision
- Lead and supervise field service teams during both planned and unplanned outages, ensuring smooth operations.
- Ensure the proper execution of disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of turbine components.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, crane/lifting teams, and customer representatives to facilitate operations.
- Enforce safety protocols and quality standards on-site, acting as the “EHS Foreman” (Preposto) during site activities and opening work permits.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical background.
- Over 10 years of experience in field service roles for steam turbines or rotating equipment.
- Proven experience in team leadership and site supervision, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- A solid understanding of turbine mechanics, alignment, clearances, and OEM procedures.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, P&IDs, and service manuals.
- Fluency in English (B1) and Italian; additional languages such as German or French are a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 70%.
Nice to Have
- Technical field service experience specifically with steam turbines.
- Familiarity with vibration analysis, borescope inspections, and alignment tools.
- Knowledge of digital service platforms and remote monitoring technologies.
