A Snapshop of Your Day
Join us as a Senior Customs Expert (f/m/d) and take the lead in ensuring the smooth and compliant handling of imports, exports, and special customs procedures for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy within Germany. You’ll dive deep into topics like non-preferential and preferential origin and Intrastat, making them a natural part of your daily work. Collaborating closely with operational customs units across Europe. In this role, you’ll drive process automation to make our customs operations faster, smarter, and more efficient—helping power the future of renewable energy.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as the go-to expert for all customs-related matters, advising Siemens Gamesa and affiliated companies with deep technical knowledge.
- Maintain and develop existing customs regulations through regular monitoring, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Build systems to proactively detect customs issues and optimize processes, performing spot checks and fostering a strong customs network in the European region.
- Create and deliver engaging, audience-focused training programs—both in-person and via e-learning—on customs processes and legislation.
- Define and implement customs-related IT system requirements in collaboration with internal teams, and oversee official customs audits in Germany.
What You Bring
- A degree in economics, law (specializing in foreign trade/customs), or customs administration, alternatively equivalent in working experience combined with vocational training in a relevant filed.
- Proven experience in customs—especially export/import, AEO, and preferential and non-preferential origin laws
- Strong teamwork, decision-making, and assertiveness, paired with analytical thinking, organizational skills, and excellent communication.
- Skills in negotiation, presentation, and administration of processes
- Very good knowledge in German and business-level English;
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany
