Enjoy being part of a great team of experienced Legal Counsels shaping the energy landscape of the future! In your role as a Legal Counsel you will actively support the manifold activities coming along with the project and product business of the Execution Unit “Controls, Digitalization and Nuclear” within the Business Area “Gas Services”. The world is currently facing a transition of the energy market that is characterized by an increasing energy demand from conventional and renewable energy, and you will take responsibility for a broad variety of complex legal matters in this exciting environment. Your primary task is not only the support of sales, procurement and licensing contracts, but also the drafting of templates as well as the handling of claims during the execution phase of our conventional and nuclear control systems business. You will also advise the Business Area “Gas Services” with IP licensing, (funded) R&D and other IP related contracts.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

• Manage all legal matters of Gas Services’ controls business and global business functions with a special focus on software related contracts and topics.
• Redline and negotiate contracts. Elaborate templates especially relating to the delivery or provisioning of software / software functionalities.
• Handle claims with customers and suppliers.
• Take initiative and contribute proactively to master business challenges by thinking entrepreneurial (balancing governance and business needs).
• Engage and cost consciously manage outside counsel when needed at times. Foster an organizational culture of ownership, empowerment, transparency and “speak up”. 
• Collaborate closely within the global LC community.

What You Bring

• You are a fully qualified lawyer with professional experience in the legal department of an internationally operating company or a law firm is an asset, especially when you gained it in contract law, preferably in software sales and procurement, and international contract practice.
• You are open for “multi-tasking”, i.e. jumping from advising one legal topic to completely different ones during the day.
• You are interested in technical and commercial topics relating to software, AI and   process control technology. 
• You have excellent communication skills coupled with intercultural sensitivity and competence.
• You enjoy working in a team and in an international environment.
• You are fluent in English (strong verbal and writing skills).
