A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive testing and commissioning of high-voltage protection schemes, including AVR relays and transformer feeders, ensuring all systems operate seamlessly and safely. You will lead a team in the installation and testing of GIS and various relay models, while also managing project schedules and promoting a strong safety culture on-site. Your extensive experience in high-voltage substations, combined with your strong communication skills in English and Arabic, will enable you to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and drive improvements in quality and customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Conduct comprehensive testing of the Overall Protection Scheme for OHL/TR (up to 400kV), including AVR relays and integrated trip logic for line, cable, and transformer feeders.
- Perform functional checks of local control cubicles, interlocks, and interface circuits for feeders at 400kV and below, ensuring operational integrity.
- Execute stability and sensitivity checks for bus bar protection, breaker failure protection schemes, and transformer & REF stability tests under various conditions.
- Oversee the testing of all components, including transformers, CTs, VT switchgear equipment, and the commissioning of LVAC and DCDB systems.
- Manage the testing and commissioning of Siprotec-4 and Siprotec-5 relays, coordinating with SCMS and LDC integration for seamless system operations and remote end works for feeder protection.
- Lead GIS installation and commissioning activities, prepare detailed project schedules and methods of statement, drive continuous improvement in quality and non-conformance costs, promote a strong EHS mindset, and ensure a Zero Harm culture on site.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power and Machines from a reputable university, providing a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.
- Siemens Energy protection knowledge and factory certification, demonstrating specialized expertise in Siemens Energy systems and solutions.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in HV substations services, showcasing a deep understanding of high-voltage systems and their maintenance.
- Proven track record of working in multinational and multicultural environments, with strong interpersonal skills for engaging effectively with diverse audiences.
- High adaptability and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity for cross-cultural collaboration and effective performance under pressure.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Arabic, ensuring effective communication in diverse settings while delivering reliable and timely solutions.
