A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be part of a highly motivated team and, as an engineer, you will make a significant contribution to the successful execution of our projects. In your role as FSMiP you contribute as an important part that Siemens Energy delivers safe, high-quality, and reliable solutions in the controls and digitalization business. You act independently within I&C modernization and new build projects to ensure full compliance with accepted rules and standards regarding functional safety (IEC61511) throughout all project phases by close collaboration with the project teams. Furthermore, you are an active member of the FSMiP community as well as functional safety expert sharing your knowledge and experiences to shape the functional safety management process and related documentation for the future.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Support the project teams in all aspects of functional safety, supervise all project activities involving functional safety and initiate improvement measures if required
• Ensure full compliance with accepted rules and standards regarding functional safety (IEC61511) in I&C modernization and new build projects
• Implement and prepare the internal functional safety management process and related documentation within projects
• Ensure the qualification of the project team members and subcontractors with regards to functional safety
• Perform verifications on all safety life-cycle phases according to IEC61511 relevant for the projects as well as internal audits and support external audits for readiness

What You Bring

• You have successfully completed a technical degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, power engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering or comparable education
• You have successfully completed a certification according to IEC61511
• Advanced knowledge of the framework of the statutory provisions and the safety regulations (IEC61511) and practical experience in their application
• Desirable successful completion of 2 projects as functional safety manager in project (FSMiP)
• You have experience in process technology of power plants and already had deep involvement in functional safety for several projects
• You have good judgment, negotiation skills and assertiveness. Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex problems in an understandable way.
• Business fluent English characterize your profile, German language skills desirable
