A Snapshot of Your Day
This is a replacement position for Project Management's Planning within the Siemens Energy's Industrial Steam Turbines & Generators division. The role is established to ensure business continuity and support the successful delivery of technical projects for Brazil Projects. To meet these objectives, the role focuses on three core areas: Technical Project Planning & Execution, Contract & Vendor Management, and Risk & Quality Management. This structure provides a comprehensive framework for managing projects from initial scoping, engineering tasks and resource allocation through to vendor oversight and final deliverable assurance. Given the focus on engineering projects, the ideal candidate will have proven experience in project management methodologies, contract administration, and risk analysis within an industrial setting. Proficiency in project management software (i.e MS Project) and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Technical Project Planning & Execution (40%): Develop and maintain detailed project work plans, schedules, and resource plans for industrial steam turbine and generator projects.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress against milestones and budgets, preparing and delivering regular status reports to stakeholders.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical and analytical guidance to the project team to resolve issues and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Contract & Vendor Management (40%): Manage the integration of vendor tasks, tracking progress and reviewing deliverables to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Procurement Support: Support the procurement process by defining technical requirements for materials and services, and administer project-related contracts.
- Risk & Quality Management (20%): Conduct project risk analysis, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to internal and industry quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
What You Bring
- Certifications: IPMA Certification.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Production) or a related technical discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in technical project management, planning, or contract administration, preferably in the energy or heavy industry sector.
- Project Management Skills: Proficient in project and process management, project scoping, project schedules, resource allocation, project documentation, and familiar with PMI methodology and Microsoft Project.
- Risk & Financial Management: Skilled in risk management, risk mitigation, budgeting, and procurement.
- Analytical & Interpersonal Skills: Strong analytical skills, influencing skills, and troubleshooting abilities for effective problem-solving.
