A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our dynamic Engineering & Development team at Siemens Gamesa, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring business continuity as a Drive Train Manufacturing Engineer. Imagine designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for complex wind turbine powertrain components in Spain. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our operations. Your expertise will support current projects and drive innovation in advanced manufacturing for large-scale mechanical systems.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You will design, develop, and implement robust manufacturing processes for drivetrain components, prioritizing safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to boost productivity and minimize waste.
- Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues on the shop floor, providing expert technical support and conducting root cause analysis.
- Research and validate new manufacturing technologies and methods to enhance product development and existing operations.
- Manage manufacturing engineering projects independently, ensuring timely delivery while collaborating with Design Engineering, Quality, and Procurement teams for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
What You Bring
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- You have significant professional experience (typically 5+ years) in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally within heavy industry or automotive sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., PTC Creo, Siemens NX, Catia V6) and PLM software (e.g., Team Center) is essential.
- Your English proficiency is at a B2/C1 level, enabling effective communication in a diverse environment.
About the Team
You will be joining a collaborative team of four dedicated professionals who are deeply involved in various areas of manufacturing engineering. This team focuses on processes and operations and takes responsibility for designing these processes. You will manage the bill of materials for components, oversee quality aspects of manufacturing processes, and implement new procedures. Your role will involve deploying decisions to the plant and communicating effectively with other plants, ensuring comprehensive control over the product lifecycle. A foundational understanding of project management will be beneficial in this collaborative environment.
