A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Blade Surface Features Engineer, your day revolves around the development of advanced Blade Surface Features, including aerodynamic add-ons as well as surface protection systems. You will plan and execute test activities and ensure blade surface technologies meet erosion resistance and aerodynamic performance requirements, besides structural and fatigue loads. You contribute to new blade development projects with paint and add-on technology designs and specifications. You will support the implementation of technologies in production and drive quality improvement and process optimization initiatives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Take ownership of Surface Features design for new blades, bridging technology validation, new product development and production implementation
• Define specifications for Blade painting, erosion protection and aerodynamic surface elements
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation of blade painting and finishing processes
• Lead problem solving and technical risk management, including FMEA analysis, simulation and testing
• Establish design standards to improve manufacturability and quality
• Manage projects and communication with internal and external parties, bridging the Blade Technology department with the broader organization, with customers and stakeholders

What You Bring

• A passion for renewable energy and a dedication to leading change.
• A Master’s or PhD degree in Aerospace, Physics, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, Wind Energy, or in related fields.
• A strong technical and analytical approach, focusing on advanced modeling, design, validation and industrialization.
• Proactivity in driving tasks to high standards and managing multiple assignments independently.
• An engaging personality, effectively interacting with team members across the organization.
• A collaborative mindset with strong English communication skills; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.

About the Team

Join the Siemens Gamesa Technology Blades Features team, managing Blades Add-ons, Protection Systems, and Sensors. This multidisciplinary team comprises engineers from electrical, mechanical, and sensor domains. As part of the Technology Blades module, the team focuses on R&D, product development of new blades, and providing technical support and problem-solving in production and fleet operations.
