A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you will ensure business continuity for the Final Assembly department within the Aalborg Blades manufacturing plant. As an Experienced Professional in Manufacturing Production Process Engineering, your focus will be on maintaining and enhancing the efficiency and reliability of final assembly operations. You will work across three core areas: Process Design & Optimization, Quality Assurance & Compliance, and Production Support. Your expertise in both automation engineering and mechanical processes will be crucial in analyzing and improving assembly workflows, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards, and providing technical guidance to resolve production challenges. This role emphasizes the combination of process monitoring and machine knowledge.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Process Design and Optimization
  • Analyze, document, and map existing final assembly processes to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, efficiency, and cost.
  • Design, develop, and implement new or revised production processes, integrating automation solutions with mechanical systems to enhance overall performance.
  • Collaborate with product design engineering to provide feedback on technical specifications that improve the assembly of wind turbine blades.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Implement and monitor statistical process controls (SPC) to ensure control over critical process variables in final assembly.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and quality issues, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure all assembly processes and procedures are in compliance with internal standards and relevant industry regulations.

Production Support and Troubleshooting
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the Final Assembly production team, troubleshooting and solving complex process-related problems that involve both automation and mechanical aspects.
  • Provide guidance and training to production personnel on new or updated assembly techniques and procedures, focusing on the integration of automation technologies.
  • Monitor process performance and collaborate with the production team to drive continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

What You Bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a process engineering role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on both automation and mechanical processes.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a solid background in lean principles and quality control.
  • Experience with composite materials, assembly processes, or the wind energy industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • A curious and positive mindset with a proactive attitude focusing on solutions instead of limitations.
