Snapshot of Your Day

As a Technical Program Manager, you are responsible for the project management of gas turbine components development from investment casting to final assembly, placing particular emphasis on maintaining quality standards, schedules, and costs to achieve outstanding results in development and component pricing. You thrive in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating resilience in dynamic situations. You actively give to the projects of new turbine components, lead and develop high-performing global project teams, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement, risk management and attend to stand-ups, create reports for partners and support the sub-projects leads by prioritizing.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Drive business results by successfully handling the planning, execution, and closure of sophisticated technical projects in the gas turbine industry. Participate in the formal vendor selection process, design of manufacturing reviews, Statement of Manufacturability and Purchasability (SOMP) process, supplying critical project insight by identifying cost and schedule influencers. Ownership of cost reduction (PRIO) project management by engine program and vendor.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering top-quality project outcomes and fostering strong relationships with our partners.
  • Supervise all aspects of project finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Create Capital and Expense budget plans and lead this relative to program development.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, bringing to bear opportunities for improvement, and optimally addressing any issues that may arise. Discuss acceptable risk assessment and workaround plans with Turbine Design and Frame responsible, when vital, to maintain at-risk schedules.
  • Champion collaboration and influence project teams and partners, while maintaining intercultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Lead and develop global high-performing project teams, nurturing talent, and fostering a culture of improvement. React agile to changes and find with the team measures to mitigate the risk to fail.

What You Bring

  • Engineering degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a similar field. Several years of professional experience (at least 5 years) in project management, preferably within the gas turbine industry.
  • Ideally, experience with turbine hot gas parts (blades and vanes) and their manufacturing (investment casting, machining, coating) and testing technologies.
  • Practical experience with customer orientation and -management in an international environment and in working with interfaces between R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supplier Management as well as customer orientation and -management.
  • Practical experience as an engineer in project management with project planning, controlling and closure, risk, opportunity / issue management, proven leadership skills and experience in development of virtual, multi-functional, and internationally composed teams.
  • Consistent track record of successful project delivery, crisis management and project finance
  • Fluent English language skills are required. Additional language skills are welcome.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational talent, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on intercultural
  • Sensitivity, collaboration and influencing.
