We are seeking an experienced Digital Solutions Specialist with a strong background in industrial environments and technical projects, to support cross-functional sales teams and develop solution concepts for tank farms and terminals.
As a Digital Solutions Specialist, you will support multiple sales opportunities and customer accounts in sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals and efuels. Your objective will be to define innovative digital solution concepts. that align with our customers’ operational goals, to differentiate our automation and electrical offerings in the tank farms and terminals market. This will be a global responsibility.
This role requires a deep understanding of equipment and systems in tank farms and terminals, and the customers’ associated operating models, business processes and workflows. It also requires hands-on experience in working with Regional Sales, Technology, Projects, Services and other stakeholder, to craft winning offerings that deliver value to our customers.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Industrial Focus: Understand the technical and operational specifics of tank farm and terminal systems and digitalization projects, to effectively support regional sales teams in developing solution concepts that are tailored to these environments.
- Sales Engagement: Work with sales teams to proactively identify target customers and opportunities, and to develop digital roadmaps for these customers. Support Sales to position our value proposition with senior customer decision makers.
- Solution Development: In collaboration with Technology and Project Execution, develop solution concepts that are cost competitive and that differentiate our automation and electrical offering in the tank farms and terminals market. Oversee digital inputs into the proposals process. Identify partnering opportunities required for turn-key offerings.
- Team Development: Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance by mentoring sales teams to recognize opportunities for digitalization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively manage stakeholder expectations by building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and providing regular updates on progress.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and address technical risks related to sales opportunities. In addition, understand and mitigate competitive challenges.
- Metrics & Reporting: Track number of joint customer engagements with regional sales, digital pipeline growth, number of RFIs and RFQ's responded to, and order intake related to tank farms and terminals.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Good understanding of equipment and systems in tank farms and terminals, and the associated operating models, business processes and workflows. Knowledge of relevant EU regulatory frameworks (EMCS). Understanding SaaS business model challenges and best practices in industrial environments.
- Technical Skills: Solid industrial automation, process instrumentation and process safety background. Knowledge of typical OT system architectures, OT/IT integration concepts and IIoT technologies, including integration to ERP and tank farm / terminal metering systems. Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity standards and best practices is a must.
- Technical Sales Skills: 5+ years’ proven track record in value selling and business development, at senior customer decision maker level. Familiarity with CRM tools, e.g. SalesForce, will be an advantage.
- Integrative thinking: The openness to challenge organizational and technology silos and find agile ways of working to the benefit of both the customer and Siemens Energy.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring abilities, with the capacity to inspire teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, particularly in technical and industrial contexts.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex challenges, especially those related to the development and integration of industrial systems.
- Global Collaboration: Proven experience working with global, cross functional and multicultural teams, ensuring alignment across international programs.
