A Snapshot of Your Day
In a world of ever-changing supply chains, your day starts with a mission: ensuring a seamless material supply for our high-voltage switchgear and surge arrester production lines. When challenges arise, you step in to resolve delivery conflicts—collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Once the immediate needs are met, you shift to a strategic mindset—developing sourcing plans that balance supply security, cost efficiency, and quality. You present your strategies to the sourcing committee, lead supplier negotiations, and implement measures that support our growth and sustainability goals.
As the day winds down, you reflect on the impact of your work—helping us deliver SF6-free products to our customers and contributing to the global energy transformation.
- Define and implement procurement, material field and supplier strategies based on conducted demand, market, and supplier analysis to ensure long-term, cost-efficient, and reliable on-time supply of materials in the required quality within the commodities of mechanic components (e.g. aluminum castings)
- Define and implement negotiation concepts and strategies and prepare award negotiations using innovative purchasing levers to achieve the best possible award
- Conduct claim and contract management
- Ensure early-stage involvement of procurement and tight collaboration of all stakeholders
- Contribute to the implementation of globally defined methods, efficient processes, apply Procurement regulations as per Compliance (e.g. Procurement guidelines, Purchase-to-Pay processes, Digitalization projects)
- University degree in business administration, industrial engineering, commercial, technical fields or comparable experience
- Relevant professional experience within procurement markets and strategies and profound experience in managing vendors and contracts including negotiations of complex terms and conditions
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and commitment to your work tasks and relationships. Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of identifying and implementing opportunities for optimization
- Cross-cultural awareness and skills, working with different geographical areas in different time zones
- You are fluent in English; German is nice to have
- Availability to work from our Bucharest office 3 days per week, with 2 days remote

You’ll be part of our Strategic Procurement Team at the Siemens Energy Switchgear Factory in Berlin—a dynamic group of 20 dedicated professionals and working students.
