A Snapshot of Your Day

This is a lead Generator Service Engineering position that involves the electrical analysis/design of generators for purposes of executing generator negotiation and modernization orders, supporting field service activities, and resolving product issues for operating generators and exciters with a strong emphasis on data analytics.

You will support the Service Modernizations Americas team, as well as the broader Generator Service Engineering organization, in tasks consisting mainly of order execution, negotiations, and service R&D.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Development of data analytic algorithms and tools to evaluate operating data from generators in the fleet for the purpose of performing risk assessments and unit benchmarking.
• Evaluation of specialty sensor data from Generator monitoring platforms to support customer questions, clarify unit alarm conditions and for condition-based maintenance recommendations.
• Design of generator rotor and stator windings and components for refurbishment and uprating Generators per customer requirements.
• Support of root cause analysis and troubleshooting of field events that lead to generator forced outages.
• Support of customer discussions and conferences as needed!

What You Bring

• BS in Engineering (EE) or related; advanced degree a plus!
• Up to 2 or more years of experience in design and analysis of rotors and stators for large generators or related equipment.
• Ability to analyze and interpret field data from testing and normal operation, make recommendations regarding repairs, modifications, modernizations, and operation of generators/exciters.
• Excellent skills in programming and data analytics to conceptualize and implement computer tools and algorithms for visualization and decision-making.
• Strong communication of technically complex and commercially sensitive information to various internal and external organizations.
• Self-motivated, results oriented approach with a strategic mentality.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
