A snapshot of your day

The role is critical for ensuring business continuity by developing, maintaining, and enhancing the global tool landscape that supports our switchgear business, contributing directly to the global energy transition. To support these objectives, this role focuses on full-stack application development, with a strong emphasis on C# and the .NET framework. Key responsibilities include translating business requirements into technical solutions, collaborating with global partners and stakeholders, and managing the entire software lifecycle from deployment to maintenance. The position also involves a significant focus on DevOps and process automation to standardize and harmonize our tool ecosystem. As a senior professional, the ideal candidate will apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems independently. The role requires managing development projects, working with diverse global teams, and coaching junior developers. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for working effectively with internal partners, consultants, and suppliers to achieve strategic goals.

How you'll make an impact

  • 60% Application Development & Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Collaborate closely with global partners, including Global Process Owners, consultants, and suppliers, to align on technical solutions and ensure project success.
    • Analyze business requirements from global stakeholders to design and specify technical solutions for the switchgear tool landscape.
    • Develop, code, and configure robust and scalable software solutions, with a primary focus on C# and the .NET framework.
    • Design and implement both front-end and back-end application components, ensuring seamless integration and a high-quality user experience.
    • Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and ensure application performance and reliability. 

  • 40% DevOps, Automation & Mentorship
    • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the building, testing, and deployment of software applications.
    • Manage source code and versioning using Git, applying best practices for branching, merging, and release management.
    • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline development workflows and operational processes within the Switchgear Tools ecosystem.
    • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing applications, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
    • Coach and review the work of junior professionals, providing technical guidance and promoting software development best practices.

What you bring 

Education

  • Proven experience working independently on complex projects and mentoring other developers.
  • Significant professional experience in software application development, demonstrating progressive responsibility suitable for a senior role (typically 5+ years).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
