This position is based at the Waipippi Wind Farm, located in New Zealand. The successful candidate must reside in the local area no further than 1 hours drive from the site.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on wind turbine towers, including scheduled and unscheduled tasks
  • Solve and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems such as pitch, speed control, and converters
  • Lead tools and spare parts' inventory for installations and repairs
  • Replace worn or faulty components and ensure accurate record keeping and reporting
  • Demonstrate strong dedication to SGRE safety standards, with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Possess electrical/mechanical aptitude, flexibility for on-call work, and ability to work independently or in small teams under varying wind conditions

What You Bring

  • Electrical trade qualification registered in New Zealand and a current unrestricted NZ driver’s license
  • Experience with Risk Assessments and Safe Work Method Statements
  • Comfortable working at heights with strong awareness of safety and environmental requirements
  • Desirable: Experience in wind industry or large-scale industrial projects, EST qualification, and current GWO certificate
  • Proven dedication to safety, high performance, and delivering effective solutions
  • Hardworking and proud of the industry and organization

About the team

Reporting to the Site Lead Harapaki Farm, your duties as a Service Technician will see you play a pivotal role in undertaking scheduled and unscheduled service and

maintenance of wind turbines and associated equipment, to ensure ongoing high availability of the wind farm for our client.
