A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Instrumentation & Control Senior Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support activity for Siemens Energy control and automation systems across ASEAN. You will work closely with customers, service managers, and Service Operations stakeholders to ensure reliable plant operation, successful service execution, and high customer satisfaction.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform routine service, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault-finding activities for Siemens Energy control systems, both remotely and at customer sites.
  • Support site survey, data collection, engineering preparation, system testing, and service execution activities.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support, including incident response, root cause investigation, temporary workarounds, and permanent corrective actions.
  • Execute hardware, software, firmware, cybersecurity, and lifecycle upgrade activities for installed control systems.
  • Support customers during planned outages, emergencies, breakdowns, and critical plant events.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers and engineering teams in planning, scheduling, and executing service activities.
  • Execute small service projects while meeting agreed targets for safety, quality, cost, schedule, customer satisfaction.
  • Support technical clarification activities for service proposals, bids, and customer inquiries.
  • Configure and troubleshooting industrial communication networks and interfaces, including Modbus, OPC, IEC protocol, and third-party integrations.
  • Design, configure, and maintain high-availability application server systems infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical reports, service documentation, and recommendations for system improvements and lifecycle management.
  • Create service opportunities (Service Push) and promote Siemens Energy digitalization, cybersecurity, and modernization solutions to support customer long-term operational goals.
  • Provide backup support for MYREC Services and Resident Engineer assignments when required including support PCP Pengerang, Gebeng, Kerteh and other regional customer sites.
  • Support service activities across ASEAN countries and contribute to regional resource-sharing initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in power generation, oil & gas, utility, or industrial automation environments.
  • Hand-on experience with Siemens SPPA-T3000, Omnivise T3000 Distributed Control Systems will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, instrumentation, control logic, process control, and plant operations.
  • Experience in configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC DA/UA, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, and Ethernet-based network diagnostics.
  • Basic understanding of industrial cybersecurity concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, remote access solutions, patch management, and security hardening.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across ASEAN and support emergency service requirements outside normal working hours when necessary.
