A Snapshot of Your Day
Do you enjoy leading technology programs and shaping future materials solutions for the next generation of gas and steam turbine products? In this role, you will drive strategic materials development activities from early-stage technology assessment through qualification and implementation into industrial applications. You will coordinate complex development programs, balancing business needs with technical requirements, and contribute to future product roadmaps across Siemens Energy. As a senior member of the materials organization, you will manage project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables while collaborating closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Service functions. Your expertise will ensure that future materials technologies enhance operational reliability, performance improvement, and cost competitiveness of Siemens Energy products.
How You’ll Make an Impact - Lead strategic technology and materials development projects from concept definition through industrial implementation and operational feedback
- Manage project budgets, schedules, risk mitigation activities, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful delivery
- Coordinate publicly funded and internally financed R&D programs, driving effective execution and achievement of project objectives
- Develop, qualify, and implement advanced metallic materials and material systems, including assessment strategies, qualification plans, and testing concepts in collaboration with internal and external laboratories
- Provide expert materials consulting and technical assessments to Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Service organizations, while supporting technology maturity reviews, risk assessments, and future product roadmaps
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with universities, research institutes, suppliers, and industrial collaborators to advance innovation and technology development
What You Bring- Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Proven project leadership experience with accountability for budgets, timelines, and technical deliverables
- Several years of experience in materials engineering, product development, and/or technology development programs
- Knowledge of development project management methodologies, preferably with RDPM@Siemens Energy or a comparable certification
- Strong understanding of technology maturation processes and the ability to coordinate international, interdisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Excellent communication and intercultural skills, with fluency in both German and English
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
