A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be based in Yixing and work as an NDT engineer for internal tasks and as a Source Inspector dealing with supplier-related tasks.
As an NDT Engineer:
You will work in the Quality Management team, sharing responsibilities with other NDT engineers. Your tasks will include creating NDT working procedures, training inspectors, overseeing inspection operations on the production line, addressing non-conformities, and improving the inspection process.
As a Source Inspector:
You may work on-site at suppliers 3 to 5 days a week, depending on the needs of Siemens Energy supplier quality management. Most inspections will take place in China, but you may also have source inspections in Japan or Europe. You will review test results, procedures, and train colleagues if necessary. Additionally, you will perform your own tests to verify vendor results, communicate component acceptance results to suppliers, and discuss these results with the Siemens Energy supplier quality engineer. For deviations, you will create error messages in SAP.
After coordinating with the Siemens Energy supplier quality engineer, you will plan your business trips independently. This includes coordinating acceptance dates with suppliers and booking trips (e.g., flights, trains, hotels, visas) using the tool provided by Siemens Energy.

What You Bring
Knowledge and certificates in the following test methods:
•FPI Level 2 according to DIN EN ISO 9712 or similar to DIN EN ISO 4179
•VT Level 2 according to DIN EN ISO 9712 or similar to DIN EN ISO 4179
•X-Ray Level 2 according to DIN EN ISO 9712 or similar to DIN EN ISO 4179
•Knowledge of ultrasonic wall thickness measurements (Ultrasonic test)
•Knowledge of eddy current thickness measurements (Eddy Current Test)
•Knowledge of thermography
•Knowledge of Air Flow Measurement
•Appropriate certificate of visual ability for the above-mentioned methods
•Knowledge of manufacturing processes of gas turbine blades and related typical failure characteristics for high-alloyed materials
•Knowledge of heat treatment and evaluation of furnace diagrams
•Knowledge of certificate checks for chemical and mechanical material properties
•Ability to perform cross-checks to verify supplier results
•Ability to review test processes and supplier instructions
•Ability to train suppliers
•SAP knowledge and proficiency in MS applications
•Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese to communicate professionally with suppliers and within the team
•Self-confident presence as a Siemens Energy representative
•Ability to work in a team
•Willingness to travel within China, Europe, and Japan (3-5 days per week)
