As a Project Manager - Control & Protection Refurbishment, you will play a key role in delivering modernization and refurbishment projects for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage project execution from proposal to completion, and collaborate with customers, suppliers, and engineering experts to ensure successful project delivery in terms of quality, cost, and schedule.

How You'll Make an Impact
- Lead and manage Control & Protection refurbishment projects for HVDC transmission systems, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Prepare and manage technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and project execution plans.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams within Control & Protection hardware and auxiliary systems.
- Coordinate closely with project management, engineering experts, suppliers, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plan and control project activities including:
- Technical concept development
- Scope definition
- Scheduling and milestone tracking
- Resource planning
- Cost estimation and controlling
- Risk and opportunity management
- Manage contracts, change requests, claims, and commercial negotiations with customers, partners, and suppliers.
- Drive subcontractor management activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Conduct project reporting, information management, audits, process reviews, and design reviews.
- Proactively identify opportunities for cost optimization and continuous improvement.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through professional stakeholder management and successful project closeout.
What You Bring
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline with a standard duration of more than four years.
Professional Experience
- Several years of experience in project management within the power transmission, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Proven track record in managing technically complex engineering projects.
- Experience managing project financials, schedules, resources, and customer relationships.
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of:
- HVDC technology
- Control & Protection systems
- Converter technology
- High-voltage engineering
- Preferred experience in:
- Plant engineering
- Cabling systems
- Power transmission infrastructure
- Refurbishment and modernization projects
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Structured and solution-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and drive win-win outcomes.
- Strong commercial awareness including contract, claim, and risk management.
Language & Mobility
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- German language skills are advantageous.
- International and intercultural experience is preferred.
- Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
