A Snapshot of Your Day

You are the driving force behind the implementation of data management practices in the People Data Domain. Your goal is to bring its data under governance, you will do this by defining a roadmap of data initiatives and setting these plans into motion to build the domain’s data foundations, embed data governance practices and drive data excellence within your domain. You contribute to refining the Data Domain’s strategy and identifying data governance priorities, so all efforts are in service of Siemens Energy’s key goals and support the efforts of other Data Domain Managers across the Siemens Energy Data Landscape. The People Data Domain is critical to Siemens Energy, with much of its data being consumed by the entire organization at a time when many digital programs require clear guidance to consume and make data available to others that is trusted, well defined, secure.

HR function. In your day to day, you build a close collaboration with the Data Governance team; build a strong partnership with the other Data Domain Managers and work closely with Data Stewards to assess progress on key achievements and prioritize urgent data quality issues. You strategize data integration efforts with Digital Core teams to ensure seamless data flow across systems and engage with business collaborators to align on data management objectives and present updates to the Data Governance Council.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Represent the People Data Domain across the organization and in the different data governance governing bodies. Collaborate with leadership across the organization to identify business needs, taking ownership for mobilizing the efforts for all data subject areas within the domain’ scope.
  • Develop and implement a data management roadmap for the People Data Domain that supports business and regulatory requirements. Drive the implementation and execution of data management frameworks that enhance data availability, quality and reliability; bringing clarity on ownership for the master and refence data the domain is accountable for.
  • Build a strong data governance operating model for the domain, identifying and formalizing the people that will take on the data stewardship supporting roles.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure overall alignment across the company, ensuring data is always considered withing Key Design Decision making and that these decisions are upheld throughout the delivery of new digital capabilities.
  • Drive the integration of data management practices, driving data quality and interoperability of the data.
  • Communicate effectively with collaborators to promote data governance initiatives and drive cultural change.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years experience on data management, data governance, or a related field, preferably within the energy sector, working with People data concepts (Strategic Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Benefits & Compensation, other).
  • Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance; having implemented these successfully. Ability to translate complex data management concepts into actionable strategies.
  • Experience working for a large and complex organization, driving and delivering data initiatives, leading and collaborating with other data governance roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Siemens Energy and substantial experience in data governance are highly desired.
