A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Operational Buyer, you will ensure the timely and accurate execution of day-to-day operational procurement activities that support the successful delivery of Transformer and Switchgear projects in Americas region. You will manage end-to-end purchasing transactions, including the creation and maintenance of Purchase Orders (POs) in SAP and post-order monitoring and management including order acknowledgement / confirmation (OA/OC) and any differences with suppliers for executing of orders, while ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy guidelines and procurement policies. Working closely with suppliers, project teams, strategic procurement and other cross functional stakeholders, you will coordinate procurement activities, maintain data accuracy, resolve order-related issues, and support a reliable and efficient supply chain. Your efforts will directly contribute to operational excellence, supply continuity, and successful project execution.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Enter and maintain procurement orders, including PO creation/validation/release/changes in SAP from PRs/requests per approval workflows.
• Support supplier onboarding and maintain accurate supplier information across digital tools/systems.
• Ensure correct master data and commercial/order details (pricing, Incoterms, payment terms, delivery dates, lead times, confirmations) are entered in orders.
• Send POs, secure acknowledgements, track confirmation, communicate back to project teams for any deviations by vendors.
• Partner with internal teams (Commercial, Project Managers, Requestors, AP, IT etc.) to support order requests and enable smooth POR-PO-Invoice processing.
• Apply Siemens Energy procurement policies, maintain audit-ready documentation, monitor KPIs/open orders, and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant work experience in SAP, ERP, Order management.
• End-to-end understanding of purchasing, receiving, and invoice processes (P2P process).
• PR-to-PO conversion, PO change management, release strategies.
• Vendor/material/service data plus info records and source lists.
• Strong attention to detail and data integrity mindset.
• Effective supplier follow-up and cross-functional collaboration; able to manage urgencies, and stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of pricing, delivery terms, and other major contract references.
• Fluent in English
