A snapshot of your day
This position is an addition to the Omnivise Asset Management (OAM) team to provide centralized, expert-level management for current OAM projects and service contracts. The primary business aim is to offload advanced support tasks from the development team, creating a dedicated project and service function to handle Level 2 services like system upgrades for on-premise and cloud environments. To address this, the role is structured around three core areas: direct execution of OAM projects and services, advanced technical support and system maintenance, and process improvement with mentorship. This focus ensures that project delivery is streamlined, complex technical issues are resolved efficiently, and operational knowledge is effectively transferred and maintained within the service organization. Given the focus on advanced I&C systems and project oversight, the ideal candidate will be a senior professional with significant experience in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering. They must possess proven skills in managing technical projects, troubleshooting complex control systems (DCS/SCADA), and have a foundational understanding of both on-premise and cloud system administration.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design and maintain automated deployment pipelines
- Support and operate Kubernetes-based platforms and containerized workloads
- Manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform
- Deploy and support Apache Kafka environments
- Provide 3rd level support for complex platform and infrastructure issues
- Support on-premises and hybrid cloud deployment environments
- Improve platform stability, scalability, observability, and release efficiency
- Drive automation, standardization, and operational process improvement
- Perform system administration and maintenance tasks for customer systems, with a future focus on OES and cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on OAM system architecture, support processes, and best practices.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline project delivery and service support workflows.
What You Bring
- Significant professional experience (typically 3-5 years) in software development or system administration or software execution preferably in the power generation or industrial automation sector.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field would be beneficial (not mandatory)
- Strong background in on-premises and cloud-based deployment environments
- Focus on standardization, scalability, observability, operational reliability and documentation
- Database Knowledge (MS SQL, Postgres, Oracle, Third Party Data Bases)
- Utilize AWS for infrastructure deployment and cloud operations, including AWS and/or Azure.
- Manage deployment, support, and platform operations for Apache Kafka.
