A Snapshot of Your Day

We have a need for a skilled Steam Turbine (ST) NDE Field Service Engineer. Our NDE Field Service Engineer will be based in our Pittsburgh Service Center office (PSC) and provides engineering support for nondestructive inspection services at power plant sites across the Americas including the United States, Canada, Central and South America.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide engineering and supervisory support to the technicians that perform inspections of steam turbines and generators, including balance of plant equipment such as heat exchangers and piping at our customers’ power plant.
  • Travel (up to 75% annually for this position) to Combustion Turbine and Steam Turbine sites and develop, support or perform field NDE Inspections per Siemens requirements.
  • Support customer power plant outage planning and production control to ensure the timely delivery of tools, personnel and field inspection activities through the application of field service systems and procedures.
  • Responsible for the development of new and continuous improvement of existing ST NDE applications for use in the field.
  • Stay ahead of technology and new developments in NDE - investigate new NDE technologies and applications to tackle maintenance problems.
  • Be the liaison with Siemens and Customer teams during the development of new NDE techniques.

What You Bring

  • AAS degree in Non-Destructive Testing preferred or minimum High School diploma required
  • Minimum of 8 years of NDE related work experience.
  • Verified formal NDE classroom training in at least 4 of the following NDE methods UT, ET, MT, VT, PT, & RT fields, meeting the requirements of ASNT Document ASNT-SNT-TC-1A.
  • Must be able to pass extended background check for unescorted access to Nuclear power facilities.
  • Must live within an hour drive of a major airport

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
