A snapshot of your day
As a Stores Operative at Siemens Gamesa, your day will involve supporting the storage and logistics requirements of the East Anglia One Wind Farm in Lowestoft, Suffolk. You will ensure that all stock movements are accurately recorded and controlled, manage the packing of tools and parts, and ensure compliance with export, import, and dangerous goods documentation. Your role will require flexibility to adapt to changing plans while maintaining the highest safety standards and providing essential information to your Line Manager for effective stock management.
How you’ll make an impact
- Order, receive, pick, pack, issue, and dispatch inventory while maintaining fully auditable records in both SAP and paper formats.
- Complete export/import and dangerous goods manifests to comply with legislation.
- Manage calibrated tools and secure inventory, including safety equipment and tooling.
- Oversee LOLER inspections for lifting equipment to ensure compliance and safety.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, adhering to procedures and conducting regular audits.
- Conduct inventory checks and audits to ensure accuracy and team performance.
- Expedite effective logistics solutions to deliver service to internal and external customers.
What you bring
- A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to leading change in the industry.
- Demonstrable experience in stores and material control, ideally within the offshore wind sector.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Willingness to work shifts at the project location, including weekends, with flexibility to cover holidays and late sails.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and proficiency in IT, particularly MS Office applications and SAP.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience in the wind industry is advantageous, although full training will be provided.
