关于职务
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a master’s thesis student, you will work on improving fatigue life prediction methods for turbine exhaust components by applying and evaluating different material models. Your daily activities will include conducting literature review, investigating and calibrating constitutive models, performing elastoplastic finite element (FE) simulations, and working with our in-house fatigue assessment tool. Your tasks will include utilising the built-in material models available in the FE software, ABAQUS. You will work closely with your supervisors and benefit from continuous learning, mentorship, and collaboration within a supportive and inspiring team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Conduct literature review on material constitutive models.
Calibrate elastoplastic material models using low-cycle fatigue data.
Perform FE simulations to predict the stress-strain behaviour of exhaust components
Evaluate and compare fatigue life predictions for the different utilised models
What You Bring
- Background in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Basic understanding in solid mechanics of metals with interest in fatigue life prediction
- Good knowledge of material- and computational mechanics
Working knowledge of the FE software ABAQUS
Strong analytical skills and motivation to solve engineering problems
Collaborative with strong desire to learn, adapt, and contribute to a diverse team
About the Team
