A Snapshot of Your Day

In your role as a I&C field service specialist for industrial steam turbines and Generators, you will be responsible for I&C commissioning work on Steam Turbine & Generators and carry it out independently at customer sites in Australia and when required across Asia Pacific. Your area of responsibility includes re-commissioning, faultfinding and modifications & upgrades to controls systems.
Primarily you will be carrying out service activities during planned outages and when required supporting new equipment installation, Commission Steam Turbines and Generators ,analyze and update Controls Systems
Carry out safety checks on Emergency Control Systems, manage and provide guidance on start-up of Steam Turbine and Generators
Preferably experience working on various Control Systems for example
o T3000
o PCS7
o S7
o Turloop
o Allan Bradley
o Woodward
o Bentley Nevada
o GE
o MHI

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ensuring the site is safe and ready for the planned work activities SE is responsible for
  • Working to SE Zero Harm standards at all times and reporting incidents and near misses
  • Conformity check of supplied work equipment/tools and spare parts
  • Carrying out planned workscope in accordance with the work documents
  • Advise Project Manager of additional workscope or outage overrun
  • Provide technical support and guidance
  • Advising when required mechanical fitters of the planned work for the day and ensuring Toolbox Talks are communicated for said activities
  • Monitoring the work progress and reporting to Project Manager and customer as required
  • Working with Technical Support to resolve onsite technical issues
  • Preparation and submission of final report and documentation to ensure SE can invoice for the work carried out

What You Bring

  • Degree in Engineering with a focus on Instruments & Controls and Electrical
  • Ideally extensive experience commissioning Steam Turbines and/or Generators
  • Experience of troubleshooting Controls and Start up failures
  • Experience of Cold & Hot commissioning of Steam Turbines
  • Commissioning of Generators, Pressure testing, Vibration analysis
  • Understand the start-up curve
  • Be able to communicate concisely with good organizational skills to ensure the site team work effectively
  • Be able to travel and be away from home for extended periods
