A Snapshot of Your Day

The Head of NA/LA Repair Engineering is a dedicated, technical customer facing leader, who is focused on developing unique repair solutions of engineered-to-order turbomachinery. You will primarily focus on development of our service center repair business activities including the development of a strategic plan, management of regional repair engineers, development of tools and programs, related technical support, organizational development, related process governance and support of regional marketing and sales activities.

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership and guidance for the regional service center engineering teams to ensure the customer fleet is successfully repaired and running in a timely manner. This will be accomplished by managing the department budget and successfully driving the absorption and utilization targets, maintaining project assignments and capacity planning regionally; supporting investigations, reducing non-conformance costs, assisting with market and sales quotation scope and accuracy, and resolving technical issues and discrepancies associated with customer and Siemens Energy discrepancies in fleet repair methodologies.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Establish strategic and operational objectives for the repair engineering department.
  • Develop annual operating budgets for the department, aligned and coordinated with approved plans and targets annually.
  • Assign, lead, and develop all operational and management staff for the repair engineering function.
  • Collaborate and support the development, improvement, and harmonization of Engineering policies and procedures.
  • Build, improve, and maintain work processes, instructions and tools connected to the engineering subject areas.
  • Continuously work to improve the quality of existing, internal processes and develop new processes when required.
  • Assure that engineering is performed in accordance with established repair standards, project requirements, customer specifications, international and national standards and existing or governing regulations.
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of a detailed activity-based schedule of the repair engineering function.
  • Monitor overall project and contract costs and measure progress against objectives and the needs of the operations.
  • Promote digitalization and productivity improvement activities within the function.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, business administration, or a related field, ideally combined with an MBA or equivalent management experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in service businesses (field service, repair operations, customer technical support) or equivalent.
  • Possesses and demonstrates a high degree of tact and professionalism and being capable of interacting with management peers, shop personnel and clients.
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to translate business goals into actionable operational initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess training needs, evaluate current process and procedural effectiveness, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of turbo machinery principles, operations, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and experience at establishing priorities.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to work under time constraints, good people skills, and a high degree of initiative.
  • Travel for this role will be between 10% and 15%.
