A Snapshot of Your Day
Imagine stepping into a role where your expertise drives innovation and sustainability in gas turbine repair processes. As part of the Service Engineering Repair team, you’ll play a crucial role in refurbishing turbine components, such as blades, vanes, and ring segments, while collaborating with teams worldwide to deliver advanced, cost-effective solutions. From supporting technical queries to implementing cutting-edge technologies like additive manufacturing, you’ll be at the forefront of repair engineering, ensuring seamless project execution and continuous improvement. Your day will include dynamic interactions with global teams, supporting design reviews, and contributing to Design for Repair (DfR) initiatives—all while helping advance industry-leading solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Provide engineering support for technical queries related to Siemens Energy’s large gas turbines, primarily in China and Southeast Asia.
- Serve as the engineering interface between global gas turbine repair engineering teams and Siemens Energy Gas turbine Components, with 60% onsite presence (100% for the first three months).
- Drive and coordinate repair, modification, upgrade, and DfR qualification projects—owning technical and timeline responsibilities.
- Implement new repair technologies, including additive manufacturing, and evaluate non-conformance issues while delivering technical shop support.
- Collaborate with lifing, design engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to deliver impactful repair solutions.
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Gas Turbine technology (preferably SGT 5 2000E/SGT 5 4000 F) and familiarity with manufacturing and repair technologies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and proven ability to manage technical projects with digital tools and data-driven problem solving.
- Flexibility for global assignments beyond China and willingness to travel occasionally (up to 25%) for project and shop support activities.
- Experience with SAP and Mendix, plus knowledge of programming or data analysis tools like Python, Excel VBA, or SQL, is a bonus.
