A Snapshot of Your Day
The role entails working as a field service technician specializing in gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators at client facilities, including power plants, refineries, and industrial plants. This position requires a willingness to travel both nationally and internationally for up to 80% of the time or more. Daily responsibilities involve performing maintenance activities and providing hands-on support for equipment-related tasks, strictly adhering to technical and quality procedures. In addition, the role necessitates the proficient use of both standard and specialized tools specific to each unit.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- The field service technician will be responsible for all activities related to disassembly, inspection, and assembly of gas and steam turbines, as well as electric generators.
- Works independently and/or as part of a team with the goal of achieving maintenance objectives during various stages of service and/or repair.
- Effectively identifies technical or scheduling issues as they arise and takes appropriate actions to resolve them, including escalating more complex problems to a higher level.
- Performs checklist inspections and compiles records to document the condition of equipment and ensure quality.
- Works closely with site leaders, supervisors, and coworkers and assists them as needed.
- Responsible for complying with and/or enforcing the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of Siemens Energy's current integrated management system (EHS, Quality), and adheres to safety policies at customer facilities.
What You Bring
- Technical degree related to industrial mechanics.
- 5 years+ of hands-on experience in maintenance operations of rotating equipment, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Experience using manual or power tools, such as handheld grinders, and proficiency with precision measuring instruments like micrometers, indicators, calipers, and scales.
- Must be able to operate overhead cranes.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 80%.
