How to contribute to our vision
The Field Service System Administrator is responsible for the on-site implementation, commissioning, and maintenance of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems within industrial environments such as power plants and refineries. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of client facilities by providing expert technical support and system management. The position requires extensive travel and the ability to work effectively in challenging field conditions. The core responsibilities include hands-on administration of networks and control systems, primarily focusing on the T3000 platform. This involves commissioning new systems, performing software and hardware updates, executing system backups, and managing network infrastructure like switches, routers, and firewalls. The administrator will also be tasked with troubleshooting and resolving complex system faults to minimize operational downtime and maintain system integrity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in control engineering, industrial networking, and cybersecurity principles. They must be capable of working autonomously to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with on-site teams and ensuring compliance with all EHS and quality management protocols. A high degree of flexibility and a commitment to service excellence are required for success in this field-based role.
What You Need To Make a Difference
- 50% I&C System Commissioning & Maintenance
- Commission and test Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems to ensure full functionality and operational readiness.
- Perform software and hardware updates, including application patches, system upgrades, and maintenance programs.
- Execute system backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and high availability.
- Troubleshoot, assess, and rectify system faults to minimize downtime and ensure continuous plant operation.
- Optimize project-specific control sequences and procedures for efficiency and reliability.
- 30% Network & System Administration
- Administer T3000 Application Servers, including new installations, configurations, and ongoing maintenance.
- Manage industrial network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Configure and maintain bus system architectures such as Terminal and Plant Bus.
- Utilize HMI and diagnostic tools to monitor network health and component performance.
- Define and manage system access authorizations and user permissions.
- 20% Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain network security concepts tailored for power plant and industrial environments.
- Manage the deployment of antivirus solutions and security patches across the I&C landscape.
- Ensure all activities comply with integral management system protocols for EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) and Quality.
- Support secure data transfer using protocols like OPC Classic and OPC UA.
Education
- University Degree in Control, Computational, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven professional experience in I&C system commissioning, network administration, and field service within industrial environments.
