A Snapshot of Your Day

The role involves coordinating the commissioning of gas turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems, with 80%+ international travel to power plant sites. Your day includes leading field service teams and subcontractors, ensuring safe and high‑quality equipment operation while following technical procedures. You will participate in site meetings to align daily activities, manage material delivery timing, and continuously communicate progress and lessons learned to back‑office engineering teams.
The position also requires vibration analysis and balancing of rotating equipment, reading technical drawings and schematics, and managing electronic data recorders and control systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers during maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of large gas turbines.
  • Perform combustion tuning on Siemens Energy SGT6-5000F, SGT6-4000F, D5A, SGT6-6000G, and SGT6‑8000H turbines, including pressure fluctuation countermeasures and special tuning (load overshoot, emissions, gas fuel temperature).
  • Execute dynamic balancing of rotating components in turbines and generators; measure, interpret, and troubleshoot vibration data across all operating conditions.
  • Conduct on-site balancing tests, applying influence coefficient methods and defining optimal correction weights.
  • Support start‑up, operations, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and solution implementation for service projects. Ensure compliance with commissioning processes.
  • Provide manpower/tooling/material forecasts, supervise SE personnel, and maintain consistent communication with clients and project teams. Prepare accurate technical reports on equipment condition, repairs, and vibration/balancing results.
  • Comply with Siemens Energy EHS and Quality protocols (mandatory for audited roles in Peru).

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical‑Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar.
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a field service commissioning & combustion tuning engineer, or 5+ years of related experience/training.
  • Technical expertise in troubleshooting, combustion tuning, and commissioning of large gas turbines.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time, occasionally on short notice.
