A Snapshot of Your Day

For our Siemens Energy- Wind Power laboratory team we are now looking for an Engineering Intern who specialises in material characterisation, and failure analysis of metallic components.

Our Materials Laboratory team are working with testing and characterization of both metal- and polymer- based materials. In the laboratory team, we strive to get a better understanding of our components through test procedure development, testing, and characterization methods.

As a Materials Engineer you will be a part of a versatile and strong team of experts within the field of metallurgy and failure analysis, with the metallurgy team being the strongest in the wind industry. Your primary area of responsibility will be within failure analysis of metallic components and assisting the team of metallurgists in their daily tasks. In other words, a rich possibility to increase your knowledge in a lot of areas within materials engineering and to get a broad interface around the company.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Failure analysis / root cause analysis
  • Assisting specialists with their everyday tasks
  • Metallurgy and surface wear
  • Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and related machinery

What You Bring

  • Are currently in ongoing studies for a bachelor or a master, preferably within Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or similar
  • A great teammate who excels in a collaborative and encouraging work environment.
  • Able to handle many support- and collaborative oriented tasks working across different departments in a large international organization.
  • Confident in working independently and have the desire to drive your own assignments.
  • Open minded, flexible, and positive and are determined and persistent when it comes to reaching goals.
  • A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills and are fluent in English, both orally and in writing
  • Experience from working with one or more of the metallurgical equipment such as LOM, SEM, XRD, OES, 3D Optical profilometer, and hardness measurements is a bonus.
