EHS Facilities & Operations Lead will support the Hull Blade Factory and the wider OF business units based at the Hull facility with a remit covering Real Estate maintenance and projects, Port & Harbor, transportation, warehouse management and the Blade Factory and reside within the established Factory EHS team whilst working with and providing constant promotion of a positive HSE culture throughout the projects in close cooperation with contractors, authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
The EHS Facilities & Operations Lead will manage and oversee EHS compliance and performance within facilities management, port operations, and warehousing activities. This role emphasizes emergency response readiness and business continuity planning, ensuring safe and sustainable operations across all non-production areas of the factory ecosystem.
Reporting to the Head of HSE at the Blade factory, EHS Facilities & Operations Lead will be an integral part of the EHS team to ensure legal compliance is maintained during changes to the site, factory and processes.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
• Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive business continuity plan.
• Work in partnership with the wider port to ensure site operations comply with all relevant legislation, standards and company polices including CDM Regulations and permit to work systems.
• Develop, maintain and test the site emergency response plans, including leading emergency drills
• Work closely with the site security lead to ensure coordinated management of safety and security protocols.
• Deliver site inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Lead internal and external audits, identify non conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Implement effective risk management systems to minimise operational, safety and compliance risks.
• Conduct and support incident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
• Support and advise Real Estate maintenance and projects, Port & Harbor, transportation, warehouse management and the Blade Factory in defining and managing the implementation of the specific HSE Plan and relevant plans in accordance with the HSE integrated Management system.
• Work in partnership with any projects operating in the Hull facilities in defining an internal agreement which clearly defines the HSE management arrangements between the Hull site businesses, the project and the plant.
• Communication and coordination with all internal departments on ensuring that all required HSE-related documentation is in place and approved
• Communication and coordination with all suppliers and contractors on ensuring that all required documentation as per contract is in place and approved.
• You will proactively support the assigned areas of responsibility by providing leadership, demonstrating and promoting responsible attitudes towards health and safety, and support the implementation of best practices for health and safety.
• Develop materials and deliver relevant safety training to employees that equips them to deliver on their responsibilities.
• Maintain adherence to local and international safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide EHS performance data to the Head of EHS.
What you need to make a difference
A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…
• Relevant Health and safety qualifications (Relevant Degree, NEBOSH diploma, IEMA certification etc)
• Relevant HSE experience essential preferably within Wind Power, however other high-risk transportation or offshore/marine environments considered with demonstratable continuous professional development within an HSE related role.
• Knowledge of building safety, utilities, and infrastructure compliance.
• Skills in continuity planning and risk mitigation.
• Experience of measuring performance against set key performance indicators
• Experience of audits, assessments and inspections ensuring third-party compliance with EHS standards.
• Knowledge of local/international EHS regulations.
• Experience of leading or supporting incident investigations at all levels
• Demonstrated experience in problem solving (eg. root cause analysis methodologies)
• Experience in leading and executing projects.
• Experience of dealing with regulatory bodies.
• Good people and team working skills with the ability to mentoring and influencing all stakeholders.
