As a Control & Wiring Design Engineer at our new Siemens Energy Power Transformers Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina you will be responsible for preparing designs of Controls and wiring diagrams for Power transformers as well as for achieving design innovations and the optimization of the end products in compliance to Siemens Energy design rules, quality standards, cost and time schedule.
This role will be based at our new factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and will initially coincide with the factory’s construction. During this phase, we will focus on developing our processes, refining our offerings, and collaborating closely with a high-performance team. This will involve all aspects of the commercial setup to ensure we are well-prepared to meet the needs of our customers effectively when factory operations start.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Design and develop control panels for large power transformers.
- Create wiring diagrams, cabinet layout drawings and schematics for control panels and associated electrical systems for customer approval and production.
- Order associated materials and components like wires, terminal blocks, panels, switchgear, monitoring/protection/control instruments etc.
- Create drawings and BOMs related to control panels and wiring
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot control panel issues and provide technical support to field service teams.
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's, master’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in control panel and wiring design preferably for medium or large power transformers.
- Knowledge of Condition monitoring systems, different LTC scheme i.e Reinhausen, ABB used in Transformer schematics, knowledge of Transformer parallel operation, method/schemes and electrical standards like ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA , UL etc.
- Knowledge of different electronics devices used in Transformer control system for monitoring & controlling temperature, voltage regulation, Annunciation & communication protocol used in industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD & Eplan or similar control wiring design software.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and control panel design principles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- If not already located in or around the Charlotte, NC area, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate.
