A Snapshot of Your Day

As a HVDC Controls Engineer you will work within a team of HVDC project management and engineering specialists to craft and deliver full HVDC control and protection solutions making use of a new transient network analysis laboratory located in Raleigh.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Design of open and closed loop control systems for high voltage direct current systems (HVDC)
  • Implementation of control software in MATLAB/SIMULINK as well as verification using software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments
  • Clarification of technical requirements within project teams as well as with customers and suppliers
  • Preparation of design specifications, documentation, trainings and effort estimations
  • Remote support during commissioning and after-sales service of HVDC systems

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience electrical engineering with focus on energy and control technology and first professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience 
  • Good knowledge in converter- and high voltage technology as well as in open and closed loop controls
  • Good MATLAB/SIMULINK knowledge including model-based implementation and verification.
  • Experience in the configuration of automation systems.
  • Very good English language skills, German language skills are of advantage.
