The applicant should have the solid engineering experience working as a Technical Project Manager on large, complex and challenging projects. The applicant should also possess technical experience and knowledge on the engineering, procurement and construction of power plants and is familiar with the processes, equipment, systems and solutions involved in the engineering, construction and operation of power plant projects. Strong communication, decision-making, leadership, and teamwork skills are required.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Responsible for the full understanding of the project specific requirement and overall technical requirement of the project to be delivered. This includes ensuring that design, engineering of all equipment, systems, solutions and processes to be delivered are meeting the project specific requirement and in accordance to all relevant industrial standards and local laws.
• Lead and maintain necessary communication with the Customer, authorities and sub-vendors on project technical specifications, engineering and design changes and issues.
• Ensure the safe constructability aspect of the project and safe operation and maintenance of the plant is considered during the engineering and detailed design.
• Manage all necessary interfaces and integration between each and every equipment and systems within the scope of the project.
• Ensure that all engineering activities are driven and performed within the project schedule and meeting the project cost and budget.
• Lead and manage definition and division of scope of works and ensure that the ownership and responsibility of specific equipment and works is properly documented, clarified and assigned.
• Ensure that all design, engineering and technical changes are managed in consideration of the cost and impact on overall schedule.
• Lead and provide necessary technical solution that may arise during the execution of the project. This involves formulating and presenting necessary justifications and arguments to get all collaborators on board for resolution of technical issues.
• Manage internal and external technical resources and provide the necessary guidance on the execution and resolution of technical issues. Develop a technical plan, choose suitable solutions, offer assistance for execution, and resolve conflicts.
• Participate and offer technical mentorship during the monitoring of actual progress of major project achievements, as well as support to address any project issues and challenges.
• Support and advocate for new technical improvements during the project, gaining agreement from collaborators and decision makers. This includes preparation of necessary detailed technical reports and presentation (oral and written) defining technical plans, issues and challenges together with the proposed resolution to stakeholders for support and approval of implementation.
• Provide the necessary support and input in ensuring that the project is executed on a timely manner, within budget and optimizing the opportunity to create savings including necessary technical input for the costing and resolution of all variation request, claims and change orders to and from the Customers and vendors/sub-vendors.

What You Bring

• Degree on Mechanical Engineering; a double degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering will have an advantage
• Have at least five (5) years of solid work experience in big and complex EPC/turnkey Power Plant project in similar role or capacity
• Certified Project Manager from Australian Institute Project Management or globally recognized project management certification body
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland RPEQ or Registered Professional Engineers of Victoria (RPEV) or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) is a must
• National Registered Professional Engineer (RPEng) registered at the National Engineering Register in Australia Is a must
• Proven ability to work on complex technical projects as well as leading multidisciplinary and culturally varied teams in international projects as a project manager
• Fluent in English - both in writing and speaking
• Working rights for Australia or unlimited Permanent Residency, Driving License in Australia
• Travel internationally as required, work on customer sites during Onsite phase of the projects for Installation and Commissioning Activities coordination and supervision
