A Snapshot of Your Day

In your new role you will work closely with our product managers (f/m/d) supported by our architect community to design pragmatic solutions to real-world problems in the context of IoT products for grid technologies (e.g. Transformers). You will actively collaborate with and guide several scrum teams during the conception, design, and review of fit-for-purpose solutions. Contribute to technical planning and help the business to create a technical roadmap to stay competitive while always keeping an eye on the industry trends and new technologies. You will serve as key contributor to a technical excellence initiative and help to extend the influence of the Architectural Board during management way you make decisions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Drive the culture of making conscientious technical decisions to balance out needs between business requirements, development resources constraints, and long-term technical targets

  • Define, control and refine technical roadmap together with inhouse and external solution architects
  • Ensure quality standard of architecture and relevant user documentation released by the Board, jointly coordinate Board review meetings for design drafts from partners / vendors
  • Make key contributions to the Board concerning continuous improvement, proactive maintenance, and eventual unification of Cloud and Edge platforms to produce sufficiently flexible and fool-proof IoT solutions
  • Jointly define the infrastructure boundary conditions coming from business / use case definitions together with relevant Board members and DevOps team
  • Help the Board to upkeep technical quality gates to ensure that product KPIs are properly met with each major release or commit, thereby covering the blank spots of automation tools and test teams’ current scope
  • Coordinates adaption or replacement of existing software libraries / packages / turnkey solutions with Board members and domain authorities
  • Estimates effort of the team’s backlog items together with product owners and relevant Board members to also evaluate new use cases and research topics with other Board members

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience after Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Long-term working experience as a solution/system architect or tech lead in a team with hands-on coding and software design experience, e.g. in Java, C#, Angular, Flutter.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud (AWS) and Edge Computing, industrial IoT, and DevOps practices
  • Validated skills of modern industrial and IoT communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC61850, OPC UA, MQTT, etc.
  • Broad knowledge in mainstream backend programming languages and frontend frameworks
  • Broad knowledge of container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Broad knowledge in cybersecurity, vulnerability scanning and tracking, and software clearing procedures.
  • Dedicated, shown management, organizational and communication skills as well as business English skills
