A Snapshot of Your Day
As a technical writer for the world's No. 1 in high-voltage technology, you instruct customers on how to assemble, operate and maintain our products and systems correctly and safely. In this role, you will be in close contact with the globally established R&D network and other departments. In doing so, you will translate the information from product developments and product adaptations into comprehensible and user-friendly customer documentation. Together with your team colleagues you will ensure a high document quality in all subsequent processes.
How You'll Make An Impact
1. Drafting and preparation of technical documentation for internal and external use (e.g. operating instructions, project planning rules and technical data lists)
2. Editorial preparation of product information according to structural, content-related and formal criteria as well as ensuring its correctness through approvals
3. Creation and timely provision of product documentation in close cooperation with the global R&D network and the specialist departments as part of the development process
4. Receive, analyze and handle customer feedback on manuals from other departments, e.g. after sales, engineering or project management.
5. Coordinate with external translation service to ensure Chinese translation quality and delivery timeline.
What You Bring
1. Business fluent knowledge of English.
2. Completed studies (e.g. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar) or training as a technical writer (f/m/d) with relevant professional experience
3. Professional experience in the technical field.
4. Good general technical understanding in the field of mechanical/electrical engineering as well as proficiency in reading technical drawings and parts lists
5. Basic knowledge of a content management system, Adobe Acrobat and XML is desirable
6. Accuracy, quality awareness and strong communication skills round off your profile
7. Flexibility to work in the environment of a global company e.g training in German
