As a key member of the IPS Parts Organization within Gas Services (GS), your day revolves around ensuring the smooth global movement of industrial-scale power generation equipment. You manage the import, export, and transshipment of tools, materials, units, and equipment, playing a crucial role in meeting project timelines! From processing customs documentation to coordinating shipments, you ensure all activities follow international trade regulations. Your expertise supports the flawless integration of critical assets across global sites. By keeping operations efficient and compliant, you directly contribute to the success of power generation projects worldwide!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Oversee global import/export operations, including customs compliance, shipping, receiving, and transport execution for large-scale power plant projects.
  • Ensure adherence to domestic and international regulations, customer requirements, and internal logistics standards while maintaining accurate documentation and data.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Proposal Management, Purchasing, Engineering, and PLM) to define logistics scope, develop transport strategies, and support proposal bids with accurate cost and schedule estimates.
  • Analyze logistics performance, identify risks or delay, propose and implement corrective actions, and communicate material availability and shipment status to stakeholders.
  • Manage carrier selection and vendor performance, prepare transportation proposals, evaluate bids, and ensure cost-effective, damage-free delivery while resolving complaints and logistics-related issues.
  • Drive process improvements and support project closeout, including return logistics, contingency planning, supplier evaluation, and continuous optimization of logistics processes and client solutions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of dynamic logistics and transportation experience, ideally within global EPC, power firms, or project logistics providers.
  • Validated expertise in project logistics management, including multi-modal transport execution, Incoterms, export/import compliance, and documentation (e.g., ocean B/L, AWB, letters of credit).
  • Solid understanding of domestic and international regulations, safety standards, and preferential trade agreements, with the ability to plan work independently and guide others.
  • Proven success in problem-solving, decision-making, and effectively communicating technical and logistical data across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly hard-working, adaptable to changing priorities across multiple projects, with a diligent approach to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
