The Product Definition Design Engineer is a central member of the mechanical design team, creating geometry, modeling, drafting, etc, and acquiring feedback from other team members to iterate to delivery of an optimised solution that meets business and project requirements. You will be developing creative, robust, reliable and cost-effective design solutions to address the challenge of achieving component producibility. The environment is dynamic, fast paced, challenging and motivating. You are entrusted with meeting suppliers to understand constraints, working to propose how definitions can be constructed to enable manufacturing approaches that meet supplier and engineering expectations.

You are part in achieving the company´s product strategies, namely providing component manufacturing approaches for our aeroderivative gas turbine product designs that are reliable and responding to the world’s ever- changing energy demands.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• You will study customer needs and fleet reports in collaboration with Design Engineering team to generate possible design approaches and solutions.
• You will work with Design Engineering team and manufacturing fields to develop optimized design solutions to address business requirements.
• You will help and collaborate with engineering teams to understand how the design direction affects projects and technical risk.
• As your design solutions approach production you will take part in work validation. In response to field failures you will take part root cause analysis assessments.
• You will be creating NX models, stack ups and mechanical design drawings in collaboration with engineering team, for the design of mechanical components.
• You will support engineering team with design and redesign of components since the conceptual design drafting up to the introduction of new drawings.
• You will bring the team with your expertise in GD&T which is vital for our components design and interpretation.

What You Bring

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or similar
• You are proficient in both English and Spanish
• You have the legal right to work in Mexico.
• You have 5 years of experience in as a Product Definition engineer for a gas turbine design team discipline, including experience working with manufacturing to reduce cost and lead time through design activity.
• You are interested in gas turbine technology and how it can be developed to remain a relevant technology through the energy transition

Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low-emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization and digitization of the fleet.
