A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Lead to join our team at Siemens Energy. This role involves leading EHS activities on outage sites, interfacing with site managers, supervisors, and customer EHS representatives, and ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead EHS activities for Siemens Energy on our outage sites and interface between SE Site Manager / Shift Supervisors and customer EHS representatives and Permit to Work (PTW) system.
  • Perform Safety Inductions for all SE and SE sub-contractor personnel dispatched to site.
  • Lead daily safety meeting with all outage personnel.
  • Lead daily EHS activities on assigned shift and support site personnel with utilization of SE and Customer processes and pre job Risk Assessments.
  • Operation of Siemens Safety Systems and continuous improvement processes to enhance safety for all personnel at site.
  • Inspection of scaffolding and tagging as fit for use. (If candidate does not have qualifications for scaffolding inspection, these may be obtained after hiring).
  • Setup and operation of Confined Space permits.
  • Reporting of EHS Incidents and Incident Investigation.
  • Collection of Near Miss incident data.
  • Control and direction of sub-contracted safety personnel, dependent on outage scope.
  • Training of personnel in Confined Space activities and other EHS related tasks, etc.
  • When not dispatched to an outage site, personnel may travel to sites for customer meetings, Siemens offices for job preparation or to our Tool Facility for specific tasks associated with EHS activities, inventory of EHS specific materials, inspection of EHS equipment, etc.
  • Support EHS Manager in preparation of documentation packages specific to Korean market, including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, EHS Plans, and other documentation as required for site execution activities.
  • Review all EHS Incidents, Near Miss events and other data with EHS team and Site Leadership to identify underlying issues in outage execution and improvement actions that can enhance our EHS program.
  • Perform tasks that require mobility in difficult working environments, such as construction sites and power plants. The candidate will primarily be deployed in Korea but may receive international assignments in the region and globally working with people of different cultural backgrounds.
  • This position involves shift work that may include Weekend, Holiday, or Night shift work.


What You Bring

  • A graduate degree related to Occupational Safety, Engineering or other Technical/Science Field is required.
  • Certificate as Industrial Safety Engineer.
  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience in a technical environment
  • A passion for safety and desire to see that our operations deliver on Siemens Energy Zero Harm principles.
  • Must have basic level of English capability, both written and spoken. Expected to read and understand written English technical documentation. Applicants with limited English capability may be considered for the role but will be expected to increase fluency after hiring.
  • Global mindset. Strong intercultural sensitivity and ability to work with teams and stakeholders around the globe.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability and willingness to travel and provide EHS support to our outages in Korea and internationally.
  • Willing to work different shifts as business needs dictate, including willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Legally permitted to work and resident in South Korea
  • Fluent in Korean
  • Candidate with valid driver’s license is preferred.
  • This is a field-based position, candidate must be resident in Korea and will travel from home location to field assignments as required.
