A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Instrumentation Engineer for O&M Site at ONGC Santhal Main, you will be involved in
leading the Operation and Maintenance team 24x7, providing 100% availability of machinery
without process interruptions, your day will involve working on meaningful projects related to
the operation and maintenance of reciprocating compressors at the designated site. You will
play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and reliable performance of instrumentation and
control systems for these compressors, directly impacting the efficiency and safety of
operations for both our team and our customers. You can expect to work in a collaborative
team culture that values technical excellence, safety, and a shared commitment to delivering
high-quality solutions for our clients.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Conducting routine inspections and maintenance activities on instrumentation and
control systems for reciprocating compressors & centrifugal compressors, ensuring
optimal performance and reliability.
• Coordination with Client at site for PTW and other compliances required for day?today activities.
• Daily Progress Reports preparation and circulating within team, Job related Safety
documentation required for Job.
• Identification of hazards and risk involved in day-to-day activities and assessing
control measures for a safe working environment.
• Communication with Client, Contractors, SE Managers, Workmen regarding all
activities done at site and preparing required documentation.
• Conducting Toolbox talks, Trainings, Awareness sessions for day-to-day job activities
and EHS.
• Compiling all guidelines and inspection required for work performed at site and
maintaining records.
• Responsible to ensure the availability of all compressor packages for operation.
• Continues vigilant on Operation of Compressors and immediate action on Predictive
and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Condition monitoring of equipment, maintaining records as per SE guidelines and
Contractual requirements.
• Scheduling of periodic maintenance activities of Field instruments associated with
Compressor trains and auxiliaries as per OEM guidelines.
• Preparation for site audits like Internal/Client/Technical/EHS/DGMS/OISD/Etc.
• Preparation of Maintenance Schedules, Performing on-hand job for compressor train
schedule/Preventive/predictive/routine/Breakdown maintenance.
• Handling of precision tools to carry out scheduled calibrations/ troubleshooting.
• Troubleshooting of issues in control systems and field instruments associated in
compressor train and preparation of failure analysis for issues.
• Preparation of Monthly reports, Monthly activities planning, maintaining records for
spare parts, consumables, waste management.
• Internal auditing of Tools, consumables, PPEs, and documentation.
• Uploading all documentations related to site in SE internal servers.
• Keeping abreast of industry best practices, safety standards, and technological
advancements in reciprocating & centrifugal compressor instrumentation and control
systems and implementing relevant improvements at the site
What You Bring • Minimum Qualification:
B. E/ B.Tech / Diploma - Instrumentation Engineering. • Minimum 3 Year working experience in O&M of gas plants
At least 02 years of experience in operation and maintenance of control systems, Field instruments relating to rotating/reciprocating equipment.
Experience in Operation, Maintenance and Commissioning of Control systems should be familiar with controls and instrumentation systems involved in Oil & Gas Process/Compression
Knowledge on handling precision tools, Condition monitoring of machinery, Master Equipment, Field device communicators analyzing and rectification of instrument related issues in Machinery
Having good soft skills (MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point). • Basic Knowledge about EHS practice at Oil and Gas field
Flexible for relocation and traveling.
