A Snapshot of Your Day
As Environmental Engineer, you will be part of the PMO & QHSE team and support the execution of large infrastructure projects within offshore wind, PtX and energy transmission. Your day will be a mix of coordination, analysis, site follow-up and collaboration.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, HSE specialists, contractors and regulatory authorities to ensure that environmental and sustainability requirements are integrated throughout all project phases — from early design to construction and commissioning.
You will act as the environmental and sustainability point of contact on projects that may run from one to several years, supporting both Danish and international deliveries of offshore high-voltage systems.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Ensure environmental compliance and sustainable project delivery across all project phases
- Integrate environmental best practices into design, construction and commissioning
- Develop, review and maintain EIAs, EMPs, CEMPs and related documentation
- Ensure compliance with local, national and international environmental legislation and permits
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits and supplier assessments
- Monitor environmental KPIs such as waste, emissions, water, noise, biodiversity and ecology
- Identify non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Perform environmental risk assessments and contribute to project risk registers
- Recommend mitigation measures and design improvements to reduce environmental impact
- Support ESG and sustainability reporting for project activities
- Deliver environmental awareness training and promote a strong environmental culture
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or similar
- Minimum 3 years of experience from large infrastructure or construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Danish and European environmental legislation and compliance frameworks
- Experience with construction environmental management, waste management and biodiversity
- Knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and GHG calculation and reporting methods
- Understanding of cradle-to-gate Global Warming Potential and EPDs
- Familiarity with ISO 14001, EN 15804+A2 and HSE management systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, analytical and solution-oriented mindset
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Fluency in English (company language); Danish is considered a plus
About the Team
You will join the PMO & QHSE team at Siemens Energy in Denmark, located in Ballerup. The team supports complex, multidisciplinary projects within offshore wind and energy transmission.
Siemens Energy Denmark also hosts a global competence center for complete offshore high-voltage systems, working with international customers such as offshore wind farm owners, shipyards, fabricators and EPC contractors.
The role involves collaboration with project teams across Denmark and globally. Some travel is expected in connection with site audits, inspections and supplier assessments, always coordinated with the Project Manager and Head of PMO & QHSE.
