Position Title: Commercial Sales Manager

A Snapshot of Your Day

If you are a dynamic finance professional with appetite and track records in value creation in Algeria’s energy sector, this position is for you.

In this role as Commercial Sales Manager, you will contribute to Siemens Energy’s success in the region by supporting sales activities with proposal management, offer calculation and preparation, invoicing and project costs control, project financial performance analysis, translating them into value propositions for our customers and assisting the executing units with your financial management strategy.

You will be responsible for the local commercial and financial execution of long-term maintenance contracts for large gas turbines in Algeria. You will be doing this in close cooperation with the Project Manager. Your focus areas will be cost controlling, reporting, risk, claim and cash management. In this role you will be in direct contact with the customer as well as a large variety of internal departments like supply chain management, insurance, tax, legal and logistics.

Key tasks include managing accounts and customer relationships from a commercial point of view, developing sales proposals, negotiating, and closing deals, and acting as voice of the customers internally. Support Sales activities from a commercial perspective ensuring that tenders, proposals, and offers are in line with the Siemens Energy business processes and guidelines.

How You’ll Make an Impact  

  • Supports financial and commercial activities within the scope of the applicable business processes for sales and bidding.
  • Prepares all necessary financial/commercial documents for the sales and bidding process, e.g. contract analysis, evaluation of risks, project selection, bid/no-bid decision.
  • Performs sales and proposal procedures and processes to ensure optimized productivity and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures contract Management / Contract Structuring for internal and external business (Contract Analysis, clarifications, deviations, tax analysis, contractual risk evaluation, insurance concepts).
  • Supports the sales team on internal bid management process.
  • Ensure that the Contract terms and conditions (together with Legal review) are aligned, ensuring contractual risks are correctly presented.
  • Analyses contracts risks and mitigation plans. Ensure that all risks accepted from the Customer are mitigated through internal processes.
  • Supports sales and technical partners in commercial and financial matters.
  • Ensure the accuracy of books and record and support the monthly closing, including recording of such in the appropriate systems, e.g. SAP, Project Dash - ensures compliance with Siemens-FRG plus the local IFRS
  • Ensure all related Project Reporting and Controlling activities.
  • Support the Project Manager that the financial results according to set targets are managed with due professional care and optimizes the project gross profit, cash flow and assets and financing instruments.
  • Support commercial sales for local services and local share for complex LTP´s and fleet management contracts
  • Gather and consolidate budget data and monitors Actual vs. Plans comparisons.
  • Pursue schedules for budget, forecast or KPI reporting, and corresponds with accountable line management.
  • Compile data and information to report, to support Professionals and Controlling Management.
  • Perform risk and claim management
  • May carry out ad-hoc analyses and profitability calculations.
  • Perform the commercial preparation of offers to customers.
  • Preparation of Order Recognition and Contract Analysis ORCA and ensures documented order entry calculations OEC
  • Ensures correct methodology for assessment and evaluation of risks and opportunities on projects.
  • Responsible for cost capturing, monitoring, and controlling on projects.
  • Responsible for accurate collation & calculation of direct & indirect hours on service-related projects.
  • Issuance, timely preparation and submission of Invoices as specified in customer contract and regulations.
  • Manage stakeholder’s requirements (customer, subcontractors, internal management and other team members etc.)
  • Managing foreign currency risk in the projects in line with hedging/currency guidelines
  • Collection and reconciliation of WHT credit notes as it relates to the projects
  • Reviewing and preparing THOP/SLA with affiliates
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to commercial construction projects.
  • Utilizing O&G customer knowledge to tailor project strategies and solutions to meet specific client needs and expectations.
  • Responsible for project profitability, cash flow and assets
  • Completes Invoicing/billings on projects
  • Support the PM in identifying and minimizing NCCs and establishing appropriate reporting structures for projects.

What You Bring 

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Finance, or related discipline
  • Sales administration experience, commercial project management experience, understanding legal terms and conditions, offer preparation and proposal management.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Algerian accounting regulations
  • team members.
  • Build and work with cross-functional/ international teams (HUB, Headquarters, etc.)
  • Skills: analysis ability, accuracy, good communication and interaction ability with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical and Negotiation Skills with both Customers and Vendors.
  • Solid professional judgement and problem-solving competence.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Excel, experience with ERP (ideally SAP)
  • Languages: Perfect command of French and proficient in English, both written and spoken.
