The Steam Turbine Engineering team supports steam turbines, valves, auxiliary components, and steam turbine valve products throughout their lifecycle. This includes design, manufacture, operation, service, and major upgrades. The team handles R&D for new and service products, customer order engineering for new apparatus, and field & factory service for steam turbines, valves, and related auxiliary components.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Collaborates with design engineers to develop steam turbines, valves, and auxiliary components for solutions in new apparatus, modernization, and service applications. Designs include development of upgrades, repair methods, and new designs.
- Crafts sophisticated 2D and 3D layouts and detailed drawings for Steam Turbine, Valves, and Auxiliary orders and projects. Captures materials and specification sheets. Assesses engineering drawings and supporting documents to verify they meet design/drafting standards.
- Builds and/or checks electronic models for analysis and product definition. Generates or modifies Bills of Material (BOM) in SAP. Develops and releases for manufacture all product definition documents including graphics, and product’s process specifications.
- Keeps management advised of technical, schedule, and cost issues associated with modeling and product definition efforts. Prepares product definition structure to accurately update unit configuration after service repair orders.
What You Bring
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited university/college. Will consider candidates with an advanced degree or equivalent experience that has an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years of related product definition, engineering work experience. SAP and TeamCenter power user, or other similar IT platforms. Experienced with 3D Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) programs, NX and/or CREO desired.
- Expertise with 3D Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) programs and the creation of engineering documents and reports. Project or team experience with proven delivery of work in a technical environment. Ability to handle different projects and goals and to lead/interact with intra-organizational teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Projects, Procurement, and Suppliers to gain consensus in developing new apparatus, modification, and repair product definition design details.
- Strong communication and partnership skills required to work with internal teams, including field and factory personnel, engineering teams, and management across multiple sites and countries.
- Knowledge and experience in design and/or repair of products. Familiarity with steam turbine products, or repair methods for major equipment a HUGE plus.
