A Snapshot of Your Day

In our hardware engineering team, we design, implement and verify the hardware for innovative HVDC and FACTS applications using lean and agile methods. Our team works closely with project management, project execution and end customers to create new standardized solutions.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for independently designing, implementing, and verifying solutions for the reference design of our C&P system cabinets. Working collaboratively with our stakeholders, you will create concepts and implement these functions as a reference. From time to time you will support Hardware Engineers in the customer projects with questions and problems.

Special offer for graduates:

Are you eager to actively contribute to the energy transition and immerse yourself in a thriving market environment where innovation and growth intersect? Do you want to engage in projects that deliver the key technology to transmit electricity from where it’s generated to where it's needed, and even connect countries? If so, are you ready to step into the dynamic world of Power Transmission with Siemens Energy? We are seeking passionate individuals to join our engineering teams in this 12-month upskilling program. The program includes learning cycles, networking events, classroom and virtual training, as well as on-the-job training to familiarize our new team members with the necessary technical skills in the field of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) & FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System). Personal and professional development are also focal points of this engaging program, along with the opportunity to visit international sites.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Analysis of specification with a focus on technical requirements for hardware, considering further development from our standard
  • Driving design-related topics from the early stage of hardware concept development to manufacturing, parametrization and testing
  • Ensuring the provision of a functional hardware concept that aligns with the platform ideas
  • Collaboration with C&P platform team and project engineers, as well as with plant infrastructure teams
What You Bring
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • First professional experience in planning switchgear of control and protection cubicles - ideally for power transmission systems
  • Good knowledge of hardware engineering of control and protection cabinets for high-voltage substations or power generation or transmission systems
  • Good CAE knowledge, ideally with the tool Engineering Base or Eplan Pro Panel
  • Ability to actively drive topics and resolve issues as well as solid stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Good English and German language skills
