The role of the Controls / Commissioning Field Service Representative is to principally provide global onsite in-Field Service and Technical Support on Siemens Energy Aeroderivative Gas Turbine (AGT) product lines, as required for the Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) business, Modification and Upgrades and other ad-hoc customers.
The key responsibilities are to ensure that the contract and associated works are professionally administered on a day-to-day basis. The role will require you to work such reasonable hours that the job may from time-to-time demand and will include out of hours standby / call out services.

How You’ll Make an Impact
This Field Service role is focused on Siemens Energy Aeroderivative Gas Turbine (AGT) product lines SGT-A20, SGT-A35 and SGT-A65 controls systems commissioning and service.
Must have able to cross train and be applied in related product families.
  • Provide in-field and technical support to global Long-Term Projects (LTP), Installation & Commissioning (I&C), Engineered Solutions (ESoL) & Ad-hoc requirements, to ensure minimised downtime.
  • Be the customer interface for Field Service and understand the value of excellent customer service delivery.
  • Ensure that the contract and associated works are professionally administered on a day-to-day basis.
  • Support the commissioning activities of Centrifugal compressors including Datum’s and GT packages and other derivatives
  • Perform equipment commissioning, modifications, services, repairs and troubleshooting and be able to identify and resolve complex technical and performance issues
  • Understand the build and performance of the machine and its component parts and interpret P&ID and dimensional drawings
  • Verify OEM installation instruction and readings e.g Baseplate Level, Alignment
  • Understanding of multiple control systems, including Allan Bradley, GE, Bentley Nevada, Siemens, Woodward, ADRE, Gem80, Detronics Fire and Gas.
  • Follow and enforce HSE requirements and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Communicate progress, schedules and open items with client
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and complete check sheets
  • Compile Technical and Safety Documentation for planned and un-planned maintenance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
  • Identify sales opportunities to increase company revenue.
  • Provide Technical Support outside normal working hours.

What You Bring
  • Understanding of Rotating Equipment operation, in both Gas Compression and Power Generation applications
  • Experienced and proficient in troubleshooting and rectifying in-field problems on Siemens Energy AGT products (SGT-A20, SGT-A35, SGT-A65) in a timely manner.
  • Systems and commissioning activities including FT55, FT100, FT110, Wonderware a plus.
  • Ideally from a design engineering background or have relevant previous experience of Commissioning Rotating Equipment with a strong bias to Centrifugal Compressors and Gas Turbines. An ability to carry out routine mechanical maintenance will be an advantage.
  • Educated to HNC/ HND level in an engineering controls related subject with an understanding of machine design and its performance criteria during and after start-up.
  • To understand both the sequence and scheduling of all the required steps for the safe operation of all types of equipment and the ability to troubleshoot control panels which guide and check the units is an integral skill of this position.
  • An awareness and understanding of Seal gas system design and associated fault finding.
  • Able to understand and achieve optimum performance criteria and/ or diagnose where performance issues may exist.
  • Be comfortable with using diagnostic software including vibration analysis software and equipment, as well as provide an engineering solution to improve the performance of the machine.
  • Able to work at all levels to communicate project status and scope of work to Customers, Project managers and FS Colleagues.
  • Work within the company’s operating procedures to ensure that the highest quality of work standards are maintained.
  • Able to produce technical reports, based on work conducted and recommendations required to resolve customer issues, and/or improve system reliability and availability
  • Able to take ownership for ensuring compliance with the Siemens and Customer Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of Onshore and Offshore HS&E requirements and be confident in reviewing, completing and compliance with internal Risk Assessment and Method Statements.
  • Demonstrate initiative, be a flexible self-starter, working with the minimum direction and the ability to work alone as well as be a standout colleague.
  • Ability to pass all regulatory and required training and medical requirements for offshore mobilisations.

Candidate requirements
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Must hold valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Educated to degree level in Engineering is desirable.
  • Industry related experience; be qualified in at least one of the following:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
  • Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
