A Snapshot of Your Day

Lead the Government Affairs function for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, shaping policy and legislation to improve the regulatory and economic environment. Build and maintain strategic relationships with governments and stakeholders, drive advocacy, and oversee regional sustainability and ESG governance. Lead and mentor a team of experienced professionals, ensuring alignment with priorities and fostering high performance. This role requires strong influencing skills, deep knowledge of legislative processes, and proven leadership experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Strategic Stakeholder & Government Relations:

  • Act as the primary representative for the organization in interactions with government officials, public services, and community leaders.
  • Develop and manage a strategic network of external stakeholders to advance the company's policy positions and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, trade associations, industry coalitions, and other key authorities in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean region

Policy Analysis & Strategic Advocacy

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on emerging government policies, legislation, and regulatory trends that could impact the organization.
  • Develop and draft position papers, policy proposals, and briefing materials for senior business leadership to inform strategic responses.
  • Educate internal business leaders and external partners on the potential consequences of proposed legislation and advocate for the company's interests.

Sustainability & ESG Governance

  • Lead the governance of all Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities and initiatives across Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean region.
  • Develop and implement regional sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs aligned with global corporate strategy.
  • Report on regional ESG performance, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and promote the organization's image as a responsible corporate citizen.

Team Leadership & Initiative Management

  • Manage a team of experienced government relations professionals, providing direction, setting short-term operational goals, and overseeing performance.
  • Develop and execute government relations initiatives, such as outreach campaigns and political action committee engagement.
  • Oversee the departmental budget and resources, ensuring alignment with tactical and operational plans for the year

What You Bring  

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Political Science, Law, Public Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in corporate government affairs, public policy, or a related field within the Mexico and the Caribean region.
  • Demonstrated experience in a management role, leading experienced professionals and implementing strategy.

You will join a high-impact Government Affairs team responsible for shaping policy, strengthening strategic stakeholder relationships, and advancing sustainability and ESG priorities across Latin America. The team works closely with regional and global leadership to anticipate regulatory developments, drive advocacy initiatives, and position the organization as a trusted partner to governments and communities.
