Proposal Development Engineer is accountable for developing techno-commercial proposals for the IPS (Integrated Powertrain Solutions) Business (globally), leading the process from receipt of the request for quotation, engaging various players in the organization (engineering, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, planning etc.) to provide appropriate inputs to develop the final proposal, structuring the pricing matrix, and progressing the business case for internal approval. A Proposal Engineer is also responsible for supporting negotiations with customer and finally upon successful receipt of order perform handover of project-to-project execution team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Collaborated with Regional Product Development Managers to identify customer requirements related to core engine, power turbine, and package maintenance (scheduled/unscheduled), as well as parts sales and field service, ensuring the development of integrated proposal strategies aligned with sales objectives to deliver competitive bids.
- Led the preparation of comprehensive proposals, including complex turnkey solutions, integrating execution plans, resource planning, and risk assessments tailored to project needs and customer expectations.
- Conducted detailed cost and margin analysis, business and project risk evaluations, and developed bid approvals and handover documentation in compliance with Business Approval Authorities.
- Supported PM@Siemens, LOA processes, and proprietary Siemens Energy tools to ensure timely proposal submission, order acceptance, and efficient transition to the Project Execution function.
- Influenced and coordinated cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent on-time delivery, while aligning internal efforts with customer expectations and project timelines.
- Drove continuous improvement initiatives to enhance bid management processes, including the preparation and presentation of proposal documentation for internal business lines, regional entities, and end customers.
What You Bring
- Demonstrates a highly professional attitude that inspires trust and confidence in clients, with strong cross-cultural awareness and excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—in English, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Brings over 2–3 years of proven experience in Project Management, Sales, Proposals, or Application Engineering within the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Service industries; prior exposure to gas turbine technology is preferred.
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (preferred) or Business Administration, with a deep understanding of project scope, authority limits, and decision-making within complex environments.
- Proficient in Siemens Energy proprietary tools and processes such as PM@Siemens and LOA, with the ability to analyze, plan, and execute strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Recognized as a strategic and analytical thinker, capable of operating independently with minimal supervision, while remaining adaptable and flexible in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Willing to travel up to 15% to support project execution, customer engagement, and internal collaboration as needed.
About the Team
The selected person will work jointly with the Aeroderivative Gas Turbines IPS Distributed Team, commercial and technical teams and other support areas of the Company focus on supporting the global IPS sales plan.
